FIOM! Tomorrow metalworkers strike in the contract and democracy and against the silence of the scheme on grounds of work
Giorgio Cremaschi
Tomorrow in Italy will be the largest mobilization of Europe working against the crisis. This fact means,
among other things, the 8-hour strike and five events organized by the metalworkers' and proclaimed Fiom. In a sea of \u200b\u200bcrises, which often have to struggle to reach extreme levels for to feel and see, tomorrow Fiom raises the collective action of the working world. It should be an event, instead of the information system has completely erased. There is no comparison with what happens in the rest of Europe, workers' demonstrations on the scale of tomorrow today there are only in Italy, but not talked about. It 'a very serious, which is inevitably beyond the different locations of the mass media, a substantial acceptance of Berlusconi's propaganda on the crisis. Confindustria and the government continue to talk about an end to the crisis, while millions of workers see their deteriorating working conditions and income or have lost or are losing their jobs. All this is erased and anesthetized, so the event tomorrow cries first is the crisis and are fully paying the workers and employees. Perhaps one of the excuses that will be used is that the strike tomorrow is only Fiom. But this should be a reason to talk about it. To speak of the fact that in this social drama CISL and UIL send messages only to resignation and passivity workers. The crisis is there, waiting to pass and meanwhile arrangiamoci and adattiamoci. This message, which is the negation of the fundamental function of the union, apparently like the culture that dominates the information. And so the strike tomorrow, says that first of all just to resignation, is ignored. How do you ignore the shameful abuse that is taking place at the table of the national contract. The Federmeccanica , in agreement with trade unions and the minority in a minority among the workers, wants to impose a new set of rules for everyone, which exacerbates the wages and entitlements. This violation of the most elementary rules of democracy, even in the Italian political system, distorted and sick, would not be allowed. We rejoiced at the ruling of the Constitutional Court, which re-establishes basic principles of law and equality and that makes us say that in Italy the Constitution is not a dead letter. But for the union rights of workers the Constitution is now canceled. Without a vote, without a real consensus, without a democratic verdict, we rewrite the Constitution formal contracts. We are facing a real coup union, which, however, passed over in silence. Tomorrow in the squares, which will be filled with workers and workers who, despite the crisis decide to forgo a day's salary to be heard, together we want to scream out that not only work and the contract, but also democracy. That you can not stop the entry of the factories. Otherwise there's not really for anyone.
